FOR Regions TO JOIN
NORTHERN NSW REGIONAL MARKETING CAMPAIGN
Background
After receiving a Federal Government grant in 2000, the Aussie Gateways
project has successfully built a network of tourism industry operators
who use cooperative media initiatives to promote the Northern NSW
region. Membership contributions are used to produce high quality
media resources (including television, radio, print media and the
internet … promoting Northern NSW) that are strategically
placed into domestic and international markets. All members benefit
from these campaigns by gaining on-line contact from prospective
guests/customers/clients via the Aussie Gateways web portal.
AIMS
of Aussie Gateways:
To promote the Northern NSW region as a premier tourist destination.
To
attract visitors to the region from both the Australian
domestic and international tourism markets.
To
stimulate the economy of the Northern NSW region.
To
promote unity between sub-regions in Northern NSW.
OBJECTIVES:
To use a multi-faceted media approach to promote the Northern NSW region.
To use a cooperative approach to media marketing in order to increase
buying power and compete effectively with metropolitan areas in attracting
visitors to Northern NSW.
To lead the way in developing tourism promotion and marketing initiatives
for regional Australia.
To direct business towards members via the Aussie Gateways web portal.
To provide promotional material to tourism industry operators in the
region.
To inform visitors of places to see in the Northern NSW region, both
on-line and by directing visitors to local Visitor Information Centres.
To develop travel packages for the region through cooperative links
between travel, accommodation, transport and food & wine operators.

found at a number of Visitor Information Centres and other outlets
Australia-wide.

Fee
Structure...
Corporate Membership fees range from $12 000 to $22 000 (GST
inc).
Organisation Membership fees are paid annually and range from
$5 500.00 (GST inc) to $11 000 (GST inc)
Individual operators’ Membership fees range from $275.00
pa to $5 500.00 pa depending on the size of the establishment.
