of the Aussie Gateways logo on front cover of “Waterfall
Way” booklet.
120 000 copies of this booklet are printed each year and distributed throughout
the New England and Coffs Coast regions.

*Tagging
of “Waterfall Way” 30 second television commercial
with Aussie Gateways logo. This tvc is telecast into
the New England and Coffs Coast regions via six schedules
per year; appearing on Channel TEN.
March & April
*Radio
Schedule with Radio 97, Tweed Heads, enticing residents
to support the Local’s Card promotion and showcasing
the establishments that offered discounts as part
of this promotion.
*Produced
the Southern Gold Coast & Tweed Valley regional
drawing to be used in brochures and other forms of
print media. This drawing showcases the area bounded
by Palm Beach to the north, Mt Warning & hinterland
to the west and Mooball to the south. ie: The Tweed
and Currumbin Valleys. It includes local road structures,
natural icons, the path of the Tweed River, the coastline,
local walking & bicycle pathways and a number
of individual buildings along Marine Parade, Coolangatta,
Rainbow Bay and Wharf St, Tweed Heads.
*Began
a campaign to entice local businesses to join the
tourism sector in promoting the region by offering
web listings, links and brochure placements to local
retail outlets in the Tweed Heads & Southern
Gold Coast areas.
*Distributed
Aussie Gateways “Self-Drive Guided Tours” brochures
at the Australian Surf Life Saving Championships
held at Kurrawa Beach, Broadbeach. Shirts with Aussie
Gateways logo were also provided to surf club members
including Australian Titles’ Silver Medallist, Alyce
Bennett from Yamba Surf Club.
*Entered
discussions with Far North Coast Life Saving Association
to make local surf clubs the next beneficiaries of
the sale of Aussie Gateways Local’s Cards. As Surf
Club members travel to many parts of the Northern
Rivers and Southern Gold Coast regions on a regular
basis; they are happy to be associated with Aussie
Gateways and will support members of the Aussie Gateways
network by choosing to stay at their accommodation
centres.
*Newspaper
advertising in the Northern Star regional Newspaper
Easter edition of “Around the Coast.” This consisted
of 2 x half–page full-colour advertisements. 80 000
copies of this holiday lift-out are published at
Easter time each year. The Aussie Gateways ads encourage
visitors to use the Aussie Gateways portal to plan
their holiday accommodation and activities. They
also encourages locals to purchase their Aussie Gateways
Local’s Card and use it at the establishments of
Aussie Gateways members during the off-season.

Schedule with 2GF, Grafton, enticing residents to support
the Local’s Card promotion and showcasing the establishments

via NBN Television. Towns to receive commercials
include Armidale, Tamworth, Gunnedah, Wee Waa, Narrabri,
Moree, Inverell, Glen Innes and all in between. Telecast
dates – June 8th to June 21st, 2003.
July
Radio Schedule with Radio 97 & 104.1 FM commencing 21/7/03 & continuing
until 7/9/03 explaining the Aussie Gateways Project & inviting local businesses
to join the On-line Business Directory.

the Aussie Gateways On-line Business Directory.

speaking about the Aussie Gateways cooperative media

This enables local businesses (who are second wave
beneficiaries of visitor yield) to contribute to
regional marketing campaigns along with tourism operators.

an advertisement into “Southern Gold Coast Business
Directory 2003” published by the Daily News, Tweed
Heads. This promotion was funded by local business
houses and aims to draw attention to the region and
the goods and services available in the Southern
Gold Coast region. Special thanks to CPS Property
Sales, Tweed City and Tweed Heads Bowls Club for
their support of this initiative.
August
Radio Schedules with 2GF Grafton, 2AD Armidale & Radio 97 Tweed Heads carrying
the 30 sec Aussie Gateways Northern NSW commercial and the new 60 sec jingle.
This jingle encourages listeners to take a self-drive holiday into Northern
NSW. Placement of these schedules was made very cost effective by utilizing
contributions from both Northern Rivers and New England members. Independent
advertising for both regions will continue with combined advertising occurring
from time to time into markets such as Canberra and South East Queensland.
This takes the financial burden away from a single region and uses combined
buying power to attract web users to the Northern NSW area.
September
Television
schedules with TEN for 30 sec Aussie Gateways Northern
NSW television commercial. This commercial was telecast
into the Lismore, Tamworth and Coffs Harbour viewing
windows encouraging residents to take holidays or a
short break within a three hour drive. It also uses
the combined buying power of the Northern Rivers and
New England regions to target its audience within a
wider market place.
Distribution
of Aussie Gateways brochures and
logo promotion into the Queensland township of Warwick
and surrounding area of SE Queenland via the Mullumbimby
Junior Rugby League Club.
Placed
an advertisement into “Take Time Out” Magazine published
by the Daily News, Tweed Heads. This promotion was
funded by local business houses and aims to draw
attention to the area as a holiday destination and
showcases the goods and services available in the
Southern Gold Coast region. Special thanks to Twin
Towns Services Club, CPS Property Sales, Eagle Insurance

Down Under" Magazine. This publication
is published by Border Publications Australia Pty
Ltd and is the official magazine of the International
Police Association, Australian section. This magazine
is distributed nationally to members of the Police
Association and also to its advertising clients.
Full
colour print advertising in "Holidays
With Kids" Magazine. 60 000 copies
of this full-colour magazine are printed annually
and distributed throughout Australia and New Zealand
to both trade persons and consumers via travel agents,
newsagents and specialist distribution.

media advertising in "Crime Prevention
Review" magazine. This publication
is published by Monitor Publishing Pty Ltd & distributed
to all high schools in NSW, police stations and advertisers.
October
Placed
an advertisement into “Take Time Out” Magazine published
by the Daily News, Tweed Heads. This promotion was
funded by local businesses and drew attention to the
area as a holiday destination. It also showcased the
goods and services available in the Southern Gold Coast
region with a listing and phone number for all Aussie
Gateways members. Special thanks to CPS Property Sales,
Eagle Insurance Brokers, Tweed City, Home Loans National
and Tweed Heads Bowls Club for their support of this
initiative.
A
new Aussie Gateways drawing of the Southern Gold
Coast / Tweed Valley has been illustrated and was
placed into the “Take Time Out” magazine October
edition. This artwork is available for members to
use with their own advertising initiatives. Click

November
A
schedule was booked with NBN for telecast into the
Northern Rivers window from November 16th to November
30th). It used the 30 second Aussie Gateways Northern
NSW commercial to encourage residents to experience
the many places & activities available within a
three hour drive in the areas located between the East
Coast, Tweed Heads, Tenterfield, Armidale & Wooli.
It also used the 15 second Aussie Gateways corporate
commercial to encourage local operators to join the
Aussie Gateways regional marketing network.
Print
media promotion through the Waterfall Way booklet.
Distribution of this regional booklet occurs throughout
the New England and Coffs Coast regions. Target market – three
hour self-drive.
Sponsorship
of Tweed Coolangatta Corporate Golf Challenge. This
tournament is held annually and brings together a
number of business houses to network and enjoy a
friendly round of golf. Signage and promotion of
the Aussie Gateways web site was obtained at this
event. Also, new members for the On-line Business
Directory were gained.
December
Print media advertising in Northern Star publication “Around the Coast.” 80
000 copies of this special feature are distributed to locals and visitors between
Kingscliff, Coffs Harbour & Tenterfield. The Aussie Gateways ad encouraged
visitors to plan their holidays via the AG portal. A regional map was used
in this publication to identify many towns & villages in the Northern Rivers
and Northern NSW regions.

to mid January.
