Footy
Show Comes to Mullumbimby
Mario
Fenech from the Footy Show will be in Mullumbimby filming
a segment for the Channel Nine program on Monday the 29th
September, 2003. Matt
Rieck from the Cronulla Sharks will accompany Mario on the
day with his cameraman.
The
coaching clinic is the end result of being selected in the
top 7 entries in the "That's My Town" competition.
It was a combined effort from the Brunswick Valley sporting
community along with funds contributed from the local businesses
houses who support the Giants Rugby League Football Club.
The benefits of the visit will be twofold. Whilist promoting
the Brunswick Valley as an excellent holiday destination and
sport oriented valley, the Mullumbimby Giants Rugby League
clubs will host a training clinic conducted by Mario Fenech
and Country Rugby League development officer David Parker.
The
skills clinic will be held at the Mullumbimby Rugby League
grounds commencing at 12.00 noon on Monday the 29th September
during the school holidays. This will be open to all children,
boys and girls who want a shot at fame in front of the camera.
It will allow children not playing the game of Rugby League
to participate and enjoy some fun (non contact) training games
used by the junior coaches.
Following
the clinic the Junior club will provide a free sausage sizzle,
drinks and ice cream for all participants as well as an opportunity
to have autographs signed and a chat with Mario.
Past coaches and players have been invited to attend and league
legends such as Neil Pringle (Balmain) and Elwyn Walters (South
Sydney) have indicated they may drop in for a chat with the
kids.
