Waterfall Way Towns Nambucca Heads
( pop 6000) fabulous beaches only a few minutes off the Pacific Highway. Nambucca Heads is well worth a detour - in fact, it has become even more popular since the highway bypassed the main street! An important coastal port with ship building and timber mills as the main industries in the 1800's and early 1900's, this is now a major tourist destination for discerning visitors.
Things to See & Do
Beaches - clean, uncrowded and inviting, the surf and river beaches are popular all year round. Main Beach is patrolled throughout the summer school holidays and at weekends between October and Easter. Shelly Beach in particular is very scenic.

The V Wall, Wellington Drive
. An outdoor gallery at the river entrance where visitors are encouraged to leave a postcard message on the enormous rock boulders. The less artistic will enjoy viewing messages from all over the world.
Fishing - your choice from off-shore, beach or estuary. The breakwall at the river entrance is probably the most popular spot or hop into a boat for a day on the river - Warrell Creek can be quite fruitful.
