Holidays With Kids Magazine
Aussie Gateways has built an affiliation with “Holidays With Kids” magazine. As mentioned previously, this magazine is distributed both domestically and internationally and is well recognized as a comprehensive guide to family holidays, accommodation and activities in all areas of Australia.

A full page map supplied by Aussie Gateways was used in the latest edition of the magazine published in November. Aussie Gateways members (who took out their own advertising in the magazine) were highlighted on the Aussie Gateways map. Readers were also directed to a page number where each member’s advertisement was placed. This full page ad featured photo images of the regions of Tenterfield, Armidale, Ebor, Dorrigo, Bowraville and Scott’s Head.

We have had some very positive feedback about the Northern NSW campaigns. Some members have suggested using marketing that incorporates an entire destination is more meaningful to potential visitors than using branding for a region that gives no indication as to the actual location of the area being promoted. By using “Northern NSW” we are leaving no doubt in the minds of those living in Sydney, Melbourne, Hobart, Adelaide, Perth and Darwin as to the location of our region.

Radio Schedules
A radio schedule with Radio 97 Tweed Heads featuring the Aussie Gateways 60 sec jingle, AG 30 sec Northern NSW commercial and 30 sec Southern Gold Coast commercial has been booked with the station for December & January. This was in response to members who asked us to use radio while the visitors are in the area so that they hear (from a local source) about the web site to log in to when they return home and/or plan their next holiday. Thanks to all members who send in suggestions such as this one.

Further radio schedules will also be booked in Grafton and Coffs Harbour throughout January.

Awards Australia
As a follow up to our last newsletter re being finalists in the Awards Australia NSW/ACT Community Enterprise Awards … we didn’t win! However, we did use the exposure to encourage those living west of the Great Dividing Range to access Aussie Gateways and consider holidaying in Northern NSW and the Southern Gold Coast. It was a great opportunity to present our network of people and web site to those who may not otherwise have heard about Aussie Gateways. As such, we found the exercise quite beneficial and were very happy to have been named as one of three state finalists.

Christmas Wishes
Special thanks to all members for supporting the Aussie Gateways project and for shaping cooperative regional promotions. Best wishes for a very happy Christmas. May 2005 bring good health, happiness and every success in your business ventures.

Please continue to send in feedback. It is always appreciated. Don’t forget to access www.aussiegateways.com.au/media-promotions for a complete list of media promotions undertaken by Aussie Gateways throughout the year.

All the best,
Mark & Lisa Russell
