Holidays With Kids Magazine
Aussie Gateways has continued its affiliation with “Holidays With Kids”
magazine. As mentioned previously, this magazine is distributed both
domestically and internationally and is well recognized as a comprehensive
guide to family holidays, accommodation and activities in all areas
of Australia.
A full page map supplied by Aussie Gateways was used in the latest edition
of the magazine which has just been released. Aussie Gateways members (who
took out their own advertising in the magazine) were highlighted on the
Aussie Gateways map. Readers were also directed to a page number where
each member’s advertisement was placed. This full page ad featured photo
images of picturesque landscapes in Northern NSW and Southern Queensland.
It also directs readers to the AG web site where it encourages them to
view the AG Northern NSW Television commercial on-line and current brochure
as it appears in pdf form. Click
Here to view the AG Advertisement that
appears in the current issue of “Holidays With Kids” Magazine.
We have had some very positive feedback about the Northern NSW campaigns.
Thanks to all members who continue to send in feedback. Your suggestions
are always welcome.
New Aussie Gateways Web Portal On Its Way!
Our main project at the moment is constructing a completely new web portal
for Aussie Gateways. As the site has grown we have found it necessary to
totally re-model it with new images, new navigation and a fully functioning
internal search engine. After five years it is time to move into a new
era of IT and web management. The new site definitely has some exciting
new features and we are hoping to have it fully functional by February
2006. If you have any suggestions re features you would like to see included
in the new Aussie Gateways portal please send them now as we will be working
hard over the next six weeks to make sure it is ready to meet its requirements
in 2006.
Affiliation with Australian Walk of Fame
Aussie Gateways has built an affiliation with the “Australian Walk of Fame.”
This initiative recognizes the achievements of famous Australians and records
the names (and handprints) of selected persons in cement pavers lining
the streets of Tweed Heads and Coolangatta. The inaugural Australian Walk
of fame induction ceremony was held in Tweed Heads in October 2005. At
this ceremony, Grant Hackett, Billy Thorpe, Petria Thomas and Keith Williams
were inducted into the Walk of Fame under the categories of Sports, Entertainment
and Business. Aussie Gateways assisted in the promotion of the Walk of
Fame concept and induction ceremony and as such became Foundation Sponsors
of the event. This has allowed links to the Aussie Gateways portal to be
established from the Walk of Fame site and cooperative advertising in a
number of areas to be put in place. This includes on-line promotions through
AWOF’s constant contact with celebrities and also through radio and print
media. Please view the www.australianwalkoffame.com.au for
more information about this innovative tourist attraction in Tweed Heads.
Affiliation with Aussie Celebrity Golf
Aussie Gateways has also developed an affiliation with Aussie
Celebrity Golf which will hold its inaugural tournament in March 2006.
Many Australian celebrities have already confirmed their attendance at
this
tournament.
This event raises money for Camp Quality and the Leukemia Foundation by
auctioning off celebrities to play golf in teams put together by local
businesses. Aussie Gateways has assisted in planning and promoting this
event. This has opened the door for increased cooperative marketing of
the Aussie Gateways portal both on-line and via radio, television and print
media. Increased traffic gained in this way gives our members an advantage
when celebrities, their families and others travel to the area to take
part in such events. Please keep an eye out for those attending this event
and send feedback to us in relation how helpful it was in increasing visitor
nights.
Christmas Wishes
Special thanks to all members for supporting the Aussie Gateways project
and for shaping cooperative regional promotions. Best wishes for a very
happy Christmas. May 2006 bring good health, happiness and every success
in your business ventures.
Please continue to send in feedback. It is always appreciated.
Our very best wishes to you all,
Mark & Lisa Russell
