with NNSW Hungry Jack’s Restaurants
Aussie Gateways welcomes to the Northern NSW network Hungry Jack’s Restaurants.
Our latest full-colour “Holiday Directory Guide” brochure features meal
vouchers redeemable at Hungry Jack’s Restaurants in Northern NSW. It also
features a road map for travellers to use and advertisements/listings (with

via Hungry Jack’s stores in Northern NSW; throughout the establishments
of Aussie Gateways’ members and through Visitor Information Centres.
There is an opportunity for members to offer a 10% discount for persons
who present this voucher to their establishment. This will help us to
assess the effectiveness of this type of advertising. If you are happy
to give a 10% discount through this brochure please let Mark or Lisa
know asap. Phone: (02) 6680 1424. All establishments offering a discount
will be identified with a symbol specifying the discount is to the value
of 10%.

Affiliation with Australian Bream Tournament
Aussie Gateways is working in conjunction with ABT (Fishing Monthly Pty
Ltd) Group to organise the Australian Bream Tournament Series to be held
in Tweed Heads, May 27th, 28th & 29th, 2005. This regional event
attracts over 150 anglers and their families from Queensland, NSW & Victoria
and should inject over $130,000.00 into the Tweed economy over the duration
of the tournament.
Aussie Gateways is helping to promote the event via the Aussie Gateways
web portal. www.aussiegateways.com.au/abt This gives national promotion
to our members’ web sites and provides direct contact for fishing competitors
to book accommodation with members of the Aussie Gateways network. Links
are also given directly to the AG portal from the Fishing Monthly web
site and in all print media sent to competitors in relation to the tournament.
If you have a major event in your area and would like Aussie Gateways
to provide on-line promotion for the event please let Mark or Lisa know.
It is by working together in this way that all members can support each
other. By providing direct on-line links to accommodation, tours and
attractions in all areas of Northern NSW, we can target specific audiences
and attract their business on-line at crucial times. (eg: during their
initial on-line search for information about regional events they may
want to attend.)
Television Schedule with NBN
A two week schedule has been booked with NBN television for the 30 sec
Aussie Gateways Northern NSW commercial. It began on March 8th and
continues until March 22nd. This schedule was booked in response to
our members’ feedback. It is screening in the Northern Rivers window
and specifically targets the three hour self-drive market. Thank you
to those members who requested this schedule. We are always open to
our member’s suggestions.
Affiliation with Tweed Daily News “Discover” Booklet.
Aussie Gateways has provided maps and banner advertisements to the Tweed
Daily news for inclusion in their new tourism booklet “Discover.” This
36 page booklet gives visitors information about the Tweed & Southern
Gold Coast regions. It is an ideal “take home” magazine so visitors
can refer to it after they return home from the Tweed and use it when
they plan their next holiday. Aussie Gateways features on a number
of pages with images of the Northern NSW region. These ads also encourage
readers to access the Aussie Gateways portal to book accommodation
and find further information about regional NSW.
Welcome to Coffs Coast
Aussie Gateways is happy to welcome Coffs Coast to the Northern NSW network.
It is good to present the entire region as a geographical location
that has a diverse range of activities and experiences to be enjoyed.
Also, by working together as a geographical region we can reach further
target markets both domestically and internationally and showcase what
regional Australia has to offer.
We encourage all members to access the Coffs Coast web site at www.coffscoast.com.au (particularly if you are considering a short break or extended holiday
in this naturally beautiful and culturally vibrant area of regional NSW)
Radio Schedules
Another schedule is currently on air with Radio 97 for the Northern NSW
30 second commercial and the 60 sec jingle. This builds awareness of
Aussie Gateways in the northern sector and encourages businesses to join
the network. As all businesses benefit from tourism yield it is important
to include businesses in our On-line Business Directory and add their
membership funds to our budget for regional media promotions.
Sport Tourism and Aussie Gateways
A part of Aussie Gateways’ work has always been to promote towns and
shape regional profiles. Through the Aussie Gateways web portal, towns
in regional NSW can showcase the facilities and sports fields they have
available. There is also a “History” section where the way in which towns
and sporting events in regional Australia have developed over the years
can be viewed. If you have information about your town which may attract
sporting teams or spark interest in hosting a “Sport Tourism” event,
please email it to mark@aussiegateways.com.au as we are establishing
an on-line directory for sporting organisations to access in order to
stage sporting events in regional Australia. This model has proven to
be very beneficial in boosting the local economy. Examples of such sporting
events include: Golf Tournaments, Master’s Games, Training Camps, Coaching
Clinics and Sports Carnivals.
All the best for the fast approaching Easter season. Please continue
to send your
feedback and suggestions as we like to stand by our motto of working
as a TEAM. Together Everyone Achieves More!
