On-line Business Directory
Aussie Gateways is now reaching out to the local business communities in the Northern Rivers and Southern Gold Coast regions. As local businesses are the “second wave” beneficiaries of visitor yield, we have invited them to join the Aussie Gateways network and be represented on-line and in print media.

Membership to the on-line Business Directory is equivalent to Level 5 membership and for the $275.00 (GST Inclusive) per annum fee, local businesses are given a listing and link on the Aussie Gateways portal plus a listing in full-colour brochures. The same figure of 70% of membership fees being used for media promotions of the region applies to the membership of businesses. Thus, local businesses are now helping tourism industry operators to promote the SGC & NR regions into a variety of target markets. This is quite a new concept that allows local businesses and tourism industry operators to join forces to promote their local areas.

If you know of any businesses (small or large) that would benefit from on-line exposure, please let them know about the Aussie Gateways On-line Business Directory.

Exposure in Waterfall Way Booklet & New Lyrics to Jingle
Aussie Gateways is being promoted on an on-going basis in the Waterfall Way booklet. This is an A4 publication that is printed bi-monthly and over 100,000 copies are distributed annually throughout the New England region; including the Waterfall Way which is the major highway extending from Armidale to Nambucca Heads & Coffs Harbour.

Since doing this patrons of the Waterfall Way booklet have joined the Aussie Gateways network. We extend a warm welcome to these members and trust they will enjoy a long and successful association with Aussie Gateways.

Having members from New England has allowed us to cost-effectively market the Northern NSW area into a number of target areas. As such we have re-recorded and put to air our existing jingle for Northern NSW (The jingle that was played at the Aussie Gateways official launch held at Ocean Shores in July 2001) The new recording names a few places in the New England region as well as major icons in the Northern Rivers region. You may have heard it recently … It’s been on Radio 97 Tweed Heads and on radio in Armidale and Grafton. We are very happy with the recording and believe it will enhance our future marketing campaigns.

While separate schedules for each region will continue; from time to time a united promotion using contributions from both the Northern Rivers and New England regions will allow us to reach bigger markets and attract visitors to Northern NSW. Also, by sharing some of our marketing schedules between the two regions, we can successfully reach the three hour, self-drive market in a very cost effective way.

New Stats Program
Most of our member’s logos and icons have now been linked up to our new software that monitors the number of times web users leave our site to access the sites of our members. We can now advise you of the number of accesses you have received through Aussie Gateways. If you want to know details about the number of people accessing your site through Aussie Gateways please feel free to contact us at any time.

I have tried to keep this newsletter brief rather than burden you with lengthy slabs of text. Don’t forget to contact us if you have any questions or would like to give input in relation to future marketing strategies.

All the best,
Mark & Lisa Russell
