AUSSIE GATEWAYS LOCAL'S CARD

Dear Aussie Gateways Members,
We are about to release an "Aussie Gateways Local's Card" whereby local residents from the Northern Rivers and Southern Gold Coast regions are encouraged to take short breaks and weekend trips to other areas within both regions. We would like to use the launch of this card to support the NBN Telethon which, as you know, is raising money to help children in the Northern Rivers region.

The concept is as follows … Aussie Gateways members will be asked to offer an incentive to locals to experience their accommodation centre, restaurant, attraction or tour service. This incentive may be something like …
· free champagne & chocolates on arrival
· or a percentage discount for mid-week accommodation
· or two main meals for the price of one.

This will be entirely the decision of each individual operator
.
Aussie Gateways will advertise this promotion on local television using a 1800 number, coordinate the sale of the card (Sale Price $20.00 per card) and distribute the cards to those who have postcodes matching the postcodes between Palm Beach Qld and Wooli NSW. Profits from the sale of the card will go to the "We Care" NBN Telethon Appeal.

You may choose to showcase your local's card incentive specials on your own web site. For information on how to set up your website with your short break offer contact
Ph 1800 466 866. This way you can change your short break offer at any time.

If members are happy to be part of this promotion, we will send to you an A4 poster to display in your window stating
"Aussie Gateways Local's Card Accepted Here"
and we will place your business on the "local's page" of the web site to let browsers know you have your own special offer as part of the Aussie Gateways Locals' Card Promotion. It will then be up to potential visitors to contact you or access your web site to find out what the offer is. You can verify the validity of the card by viewing the sample card above or on the Aussie Gateways web portal at www.aussiegateways.com.au/locals The cards will be colour-coded with the first batch valid until June 30, 2003.

When locals order their card we will forward to them the "Self Drive Guided Tours" brochure, the card and a letter directing them to the Aussie Gateways web portal for more information about places to stay and things to do.

We are very excited about this promotion and sincerely hope it will drive business to the doors of Aussie Gateways members.

If you are happy to take part in the "Aussie Gateways Local's Card" Promotion please reply to this email with "Yes" in the subject line and we will list your establishment on the local's page of the Aussie Gateways web site and send you your display poster.

Thanks again for your support of the Aussie Gateways Project. I trust you are all enjoying a busy and successful school holiday season.

Best Wishes,
Lisa Russell
